Development: ORBYN

With ORBYN, we have developed a compact, scalable handling system that offers full flexibility even in the most confined environments. It combines safe human-robot collaboration with individual customizability—for efficient and future-proof processes
Development: Scalable mobility for any environment – our ORBYN for optimal handling

The Challenge
The goal in developing ORBYN was to expand the application areas of our existing MHS (Mobile Handling Solution). While the larger systems are powerful, they require space and wide aisles. With ORBYN, the aim was to create a compact MHS with full functionality – a system that can operate in confined spaces, turn on the spot, and require only 1 meter of aisle width. At the same time, it should provide a storage surface, integrate a cobot for flexible handling tasks, and be designed for direct collaboration with humans.
Our Solution by project Service & Produktion
With ORBYN, project Service & Projekt GmbH has realized a compact MHS that can operate in the tightest spaces. Thanks to on‑the‑spot turning, an aisle width of only 1 meter is sufficient, allowing seamless integration into existing infrastructures. In addition to safe interaction with people, the system offers storage space and supports the use of a cobot. Both the storage surface and the cobot gripper are custom-developed by project to match the customer’s products and processes exactly. The result is a highly flexible solution that integrates smoothly into existing production and logistics chains—or operates as a standalone unit. ORBYN’s scalability also allows easy fleet expansion.
